Aboriginal Family Support Worker

Job Summary:
The Aboriginal Family Support Worker - Lead Position is a critical role within the Child and Youth Assessment & Therapeutic Team at Central Australian Aboriginal Congress. As a cultural liaison and support service coordinator, you will provide a vital link between children and their families, ensuring the coordination and facilitation of appointments and follow-ups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide cultural brokerage, liaison, advocacy, and support to clients
- Coordinate and facilitate child and family appointments and follow-ups
- Lead and mentor Aboriginal colleagues in the team
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with community members and stakeholders
Requirements:
- Identifies as an Aboriginal person and is recognised and accepted as such by the Aboriginal community
- Excellent communication skills, including fluency in one or more local Aboriginal languages
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and experience in mentoring and training Aboriginal colleagues
- Proven experience in providing support to Aboriginal children and families
- Current driver's license
