Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance tasks on equipment across our plant.


The successful candidate will have experience in the chemical industry or similar and be well-versed in safety standards. You will work collaboratively with the team to ensure efficient completion of tasks and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all required work has appropriate Permit to Work, Job Safety & Environmental Analysis, Take 5, Lock Out Tag Out, and Management of Change procedures.
  • Perform daily scheduled duties to a high standard, adhering to 5S, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Work includes machining, piping/equipment installation, centrifugal and air diaphragm pump overhauls, dry break coupling overhauls, mechanical seal overhauls, valve/gearbox overhauls, pump alignment, PVC piping.
  • Take ownership of workload and communicate with supervisor to complete maintenance jobs efficiently.
  • Contribute to a culture of continual improvement by participating in practicing 5S, toolbox meetings, or investigations to improve equipment reliability.
  • Help maintain records of equipment spares and repairs undertaken using maintenance software.
  • Participate in preparation of pre-work packs before commencing work, including scoping, JSEA preparation, job checklists, to ensure efficient completion of tasks.
  • Ensure workshops are kept to a high standard of housekeeping and perform 5S audits.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

You must be a qualified and experienced Mechanical/Maintenance Fitter with demonstrated experience in the chemical industry or similar. You should be a problem solver with a commitment to continuous improvement, safety-conscious, and well-versed in appropriate safety standards.
