Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Procurement Expert to join our team at the Department of Education, Western Australia. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead and manage high-risk and complex procurement planning and initiation processes.

About the Role

The Principal Consultant - Contract Advisory Management will provide strategy development, procurement planning, and contract management services to elicit best value for money for the Department. You will maintain in-depth knowledge and understanding of the role of procurement in the Department of Education and the broader public sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to meet the strategic and operational business needs of the Department.
  • Manage high-risk and complex procurement planning and initiation processes, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and frameworks.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on procurement-related matters to stakeholders, including government agencies and industry partners.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate procurement risks, ensuring the successful delivery of projects and programs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A strong background in procurement, with experience in developing and managing complex contracts across multiple categories.
  • Extensive knowledge of public sector procurement laws and regulations, including the Western Australian Procurement Rules Frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
