">About the Role

We are seeking a Consultant or Senior Consultant to join our National Hazardous Materials & Occupational Hygiene team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in enhancing environmental health and safety standards within workplaces.

As a HazMat specialist, you will conduct asbestos and hazmat audits in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and residential properties. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting regulatory required condition and re-inspection audits
  • Developing asbestos monitoring and remediation strategies
  • Providing technical guidance on sites during asbestos and lead removal projects
  • Conducting indoor air quality, mould, and moisture assessments
  • Conducting occupational hygiene assessments for a broad range of contaminants

You will also assist the team with strategy and business development, and work collaboratively with other specialists to achieve project goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have tertiary qualifications in a scientific field, environmental management/science, health and safety, or occupational hygiene. You will also need to demonstrate initiative and competence in the technical aspects of the role, as well as strong report writing and verbal communication skills.

Additional requirements include:

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work remotely on occasion, with occasional weekends and overtime as required
  • Experience in measuring and assessing occupational exposure to hazards in the workplace or conducting asbestos and hazmat surveys
