As a Hazardous Materials Specialist, you will contribute to safeguarding the health and wellbeing of workers and clients by conducting asbestos and hazmat audits, developing strategies for remediation, and providing technical guidance on sites.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct asbestos and hazmat surveys in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and residential properties.
- Develop and implement asbestos monitoring and remediation strategies.
- Provide technical guidance on sites during asbestos and lead removal projects.
- Conduct indoor air quality, mould, and moisture assessments.
- Analyze data and prepare technical reports with support from senior staff.
- Tertiary qualifications in a scientific field, environmental management/science, health and safety, or occupational hygiene.
- Demonstrate initiative and competence in the technical aspects of the role.
- Strong report writing ability and verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Asbestos Assessors License would be highly regarded.
