**Data Governance Role Overview**

We are seeking a skilled professional to lead our data governance efforts and drive the delivery of strong data governance policies and practices. This role will be responsible for championing an organisational understanding of the role of data, working with various stakeholders to deliver Standards Australia's data strategy, and developing data management procedures to support the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion Data Governance: Support an organisational understanding of the role of data, including the definition of data captured across the business.
  • Data Management Procedures: Develop and define data governance policies and procedures, including data quality standards and monitoring adherence.
  • Collaboration and Partnership: Collaborate and partner with the Security and Architecture Team and other stakeholders to support the data solutions build and assure best governance practices are in place.
  • Dashboard and Visualisation Management: Establish, educate, and promote best practices for dashboard and visualisation management, ensuring large and complex data is accessible, understandable, and usable.
  • Leadership and Support: Support leaders and managers in developing dashboards, reports, and control systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure.
  • Data Governance: Good understanding of data governance best practices, experience in definition of data governance policy, data management procedures, definition of data quality standards, and monitoring adherence.
  • Data Management Tools: Exposure to data governance tools such as MS Purview or equivalent.
  • Technical Skills: Excellent understanding of XML, intermediate to advanced skills required in visual report design, and knowledge of ML/AI Governance Frameworks and related government and industry frameworks.
  • Education: Minimum of a bachelor's degree (Business, Statistics or IT preferred).
