Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Release Manager to join our team. As a Release Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, maintain and manage overall release management criteria and plan.
  2. Packaging up changes as part of regular releases to ensure production stability and discipline in migrations.
  3. Assessing and approving the quality of migration readiness in conjunction with the project lifecycle process, data quality, and testing sign-off.
  4. Managing and coordinating vendors involved in the release where appropriate.
  5. Ensuring that operations staff handovers have been successfully completed prior to release.
  6. Communicating across the team and with the business on the release management schedule.
  7. Working with change managers to communicate proposed changes to business processes, training schedules, overall benefits of project deployment, and recognition of success.
  8. Promoting segregation of duty of migration activities.
  9. Establishing, configuring, and maintaining non-production environments.
  10. Liaising with vendors for issue resolution and upgrade planning.
  11. Managing source code, including version control.
  12. SUPPORTING RELEASES AND MANAGING MIGRATIONS BETWEEN ENVIRONMENTS.
  13. Developing release batch schedules.
  14. Developing and managing medium to large implementation plans.
  15. Building and maintaining a broad Release Management calendar and integrating release management processes across the portfolio.
  16. Identifying, preparing, analyzing, and presenting data utilizing available technologies.
  17. Building constructive working relationships and engagement with Team Members, Stakeholders, Customers, Partners, Vendors, and all levels of Management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology and/or Business or equivalent industry experience (desired).

Experience:

  • At least 5 years' experience in an industry relevant role.
  • Previous experience in a large organization in a Release Management role.
  • Experience in managing conflicting needs of project and testing teams and meeting these with appropriate source code management and development environment setup.
  • Experience in leading geographically distributed teams.
