Empower First Nations Youth as a Mental Health Specialist
">This role presents an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated multidisciplinary team in delivering holistic and integrated care to First Nations youth. As a mental health specialist, you will be responsible for assessing and addressing the complex needs of young people, including conducting risk assessments and implementing plans to mitigate identified risks.
">Building trust and empowering First Nations youth to engage in their mental health treatment is at the core of this role. You will collaborate with other health professionals, community services, and local partners to provide comprehensive care while participating in regular clinical supervision and case discussions.
">The ideal candidate will possess a degree in mental health, including mental health nursing, occupational therapy, psychology, or social work. A strong understanding of First Nations culture, traditions, and youth advocacy is essential, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
">Skills in organizing, time management, and delivering group-based training to improve psychosocial functioning are also required. Knowledge of mental health and primary care systems in Australia is necessary for success in this role.
