Residential Support Worker

As a dedicated support worker, you will play a vital role in providing active support to young people and staff members in a residential care setting. Your primary objective will be to create a safe environment, assist with daily tasks, manage crisis situations, and build positive relationships with residents.
Key aspects of your role will include:
- Providing active support to young people and staff members between 11:30pm-8:30am.
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of residents by completing administration tasks, managing crisis situations, and maintaining a clean and tidy home environment.
- Building positive relationships with young people and team members; following routines; transporting residents to school, day programs, and appointments; participating in activities and meals; implementing programs for growth and development; and compiling summary notes.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
Essential Skills and Qualifications- Current Working with Children Check.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- National Police Check.
- International Police Check (if applicable).
- Current driver's license.
- Willingness to participate in Worker/Carer Exclusion Scheme Check.
- Current NDIS Worker Check.
- Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or a recognised relevant qualification.
- Three mandatory units of competency: CHCMHS007, CHCPRT009, CHCCCS009.
- Paid induction.
- Weekend penalty rates.
- Night shifts from 11pm to 8:30am.
- Schads award pay level.
- Annual wage increases in line with Schads award CPI.
- Supportive team including Therapeutic Specialists, Case Coordinators, and an Education Specialist.
- Supervision support and access to a free Employee Assistance Program.
- Paid Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training and Needs-Based Framework Training.
