Reliability Engineer for Cement Manufacturing

About the Role

In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our cement manufacturing operations.

  • Participate in SHE activities, including communication sessions, tool box talks, risk assessments, and safety observations to identify potential hazards and implement control measures.
  • Analyse plant performance through lead and lag indicators, providing feedback via daily reports to drive improvement initiatives.
  • Be accountable for responding to day-to-day plant requirements, including breakdown management, maintenance execution, and capital project support.
  • Develop quality technical scope of works, provide clear directives during breakdowns, and manage breakdowns from start to end.
  • Review work orders, provide direction to planners on what work orders need to be executed, and manage mechanical asset life plans.
  • Provide engineering support to capital projects, identify and manage plant mechanical risks, and develop processes for identifying end-of-life assets.
  • Maintain effective report and investigation storage methods, assess condition monitoring principles, and utilise them to highlight failing equipment.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in asset management in a cement manufacturing or heavy industry environment.
  • Proven experience in maintenance management, sound mechanical background, and ability to respond to breakdowns.
  • Leadership skills, people and communication skills, effective report writing and presentation techniques, and proficiency with SAP.
  • Ability to perform plant troubleshooting and lead programs of work.
