At Cement Australia, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team in a role that offers the opportunity to work on a large range of plant and equipment.

About the Role:
  • Work on a diverse range of mechanical systems and equipment
  • Support breakdowns and shift work, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing downtime
  • Contribute to shutdown activities, potentially taking on supervisory or coordinating roles as needed
  • Undertake tasks focused on long-term repairs, maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship
  • Ensure maintenance work complies with statutory and AS/NZ standards, utilizing OEM manuals and peer support
  • Perform fault diagnosis, maintenance, and servicing work safely and efficiently, adhering to manufacturers' instructions
  • Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and maintenance manuals to inform decision-making
  • Preliminary site preparation for maintenance of plants, systems, or components
  • Utilize site systems and SAP to ensure accurate documentation and archiving according to site procedures
  • Flexible response to changing priorities within the on-demand system
  • Induct and supervise contractors during service visits when necessary
About You:
  • Relevant mechanical trade qualification
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in manufacturing or distribution environments
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance
  • Strong problem-solving skills and self-motivation
  • Ability to manage project execution and collaborate effectively in a team
  • Flexibility to work overtime when reasonably required
  • Composure under pressure and ability to meet tight deadlines
