Perioperative Nursing Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Orthopaedic Scrub/Scout Nurse to join our perioperative team in Kew.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing operating rooms, ensuring sterility, and maintaining a safe environment for surgery. This is a full-time on-site role that requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle the physical demands of the position.

About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity for a dedicated and skilled nurse who wants to make a difference in patient care. As part of our perioperative team, you will work alongside respected VMOs across specialties and have the opportunity to shape culture and raise the bar on patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing operating rooms and ensuring sterility

  • Maintaining a safe and efficient environment for surgery

  • Providing instruments and materials to the surgeon

  • Caring for patients before and after procedures

  • Assisting with documentation

  • Collaborating with surgical teams to ensure high-quality care and outcomes

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in sterile techniques, instrument handling, and surgical procedures specific to orthopaedics

  • Strong ability in patient care, assessment, and handling surgical documentation

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA

  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification is desirable

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle the physical demands of the role

  • Commitment to continuous professional development and learning
