About the Role

SA Water is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Program Officer Biodiverse Carbon to support the delivery of ecosystem restoration programs registered for carbon abatement. This role will work closely with a diverse mix of suppliers, contractors, community representatives, and multiple business units across SA Water to achieve program outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the design and establishment of the program, including the pursuit of leading land management approaches.
  • Implement monitoring requirements and manage reporting requirements.
  • Assist in the development of expert revegetation and vegetation management services.
  • Contribute to project planning, scheduling, procurement, and reporting.
  • Oversee land management strategies to combat threats like weeds, pests, fire, and drought.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in Natural Resources, Environmental Science, Ecology, or Ecosystem Restoration.
  • Practical knowledge of ecosystem restoration and revegetation techniques, including plant identification and biodiversity management.
  • Proficiency in spatial analysis software like ArcPro for data monitoring and management.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering excellent outcomes in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to operate equipment used in revegetation programs.
  • Understanding of carbon principles and accounting frameworks.
