Job Title

We are seeking an experienced Petroleum Resources Manager to lead our team in the technical assessment of exploration and production tenure. As a key member of our department, you will provide specialist technical advice on exploration and development activities related to Queensland's conventional and unconventional petroleum and gas resources.

  • This role requires strong communication and leadership skills, as well as technical expertise in petroleum engineering.

About the Role

The Department of Queensland has a clear purpose: to capitalise on the state's resources for sustainable economic prosperity and just outcomes.

You will work with stakeholders to modernise land administration and optimise the use of land resources within the state. We continue to use data to drive innovation and unlock potential by increasing private sector investment in georesources.

This particular area is responsible for providing specialist technical advice on exploration and development activities related to Queensland's conventional and unconventional petroleum and gas resources.

You will lead a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the technical assessment of exploration and production tenure, prepare briefings, reports, and submissions for various clients, including industry, the Minister, and executive management.

Engage, influence, and negotiate with industry on regulatory and development matters while representing the department in industry and consumer forums.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in petroleum exploration, production, and operations, including commercial assessment of petroleum reservoirs highly regarded.
  • Formal qualification in Petroleum Engineering highly regarded.
