Adult Facility Maintenance Specialist

The Adult Facility Maintenance Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining an attractive, sanitary, and safe environment for students, staff, and the public.

  • Maintain facilities to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Provide equipment and furniture arrangements for meetings, classroom activities, and events.
  • Minimize property damage, loss, and liability exposure.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Arrange furniture and equipment for meetings, classroom activities, and special events.
  2. Assist in securing facilities and grounds to minimize property damage and potential liability.
  3. Attend in-service training for new procedures.
  4. Clean assigned school facilities, including classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, pools, grounds, desks, lunchroom, and locker rooms.
  5. Perform various custodial functions to maintain a safe, attractive environment.
  6. Report incidents of vandalism, damages, and/or issues needing action.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in job-related tasks desired.
  • Ability to work with a diversity of individuals.
  • Problem-solving skills required.

This is a non-benefited position. The Adult Facility Maintenance Specialist will work under direct supervision using standardized procedures and will provide information and/or advise others when necessary.

Working Environment: The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 10% sitting, 60% walking, and 30% standing. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and in a generally hazard-free environment.
