Financial Planning and Budgeting Expert

At Raytheon Australia, we're seeking a skilled Financial Planning & Accounting (FP&A) Analyst to join our team. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to build their career in finance and accounting.
The FP&A Analyst will be responsible for supporting the business through the coordination, preparation, reporting, and provision of accurate and concise analysis of the company's budgets and forecasts. The role involves developing long-range financial plans and annual operations plans, functional overhead budgets, preparing monthly financial reports for each business unit, and explaining monthly and year-to-date variances.
You'll work closely with our local team and be backed by global expertise, as well as a tailored professional development program to ensure your success.
Key Responsibilities:- Produce monthly management reporting for the company, including financial reports, operations review packs, leadership team finance reports, and functional overhead reports.
- Prepare financial metrics and analysis for management reviews, focusing on the financial performance of the company's business, including forecasting and analysis of full-year forecasts against the budget and prior forecast.
- Meet reporting deadlines on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, aligned with the financial calendar.
- Process enhancements by effectively leveraging the potential of core financial systems.
- Support the development of the Long-Range Financial Plan and Annual Operating Plan.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and other analysis as requested.
- Understand and apply knowledge of Australian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)/Accounting principles.
- Utilize foundational understanding of key financial metrics and financial analyses to actively participate in planning and forecasting.
- Requires a University Degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience required.
- Requires theoretical to advanced knowledge of Finance or Accounting.
- Requires practical knowledge of projects, programs, or systems relevant to the business, with the ability to make enhancements and leverage knowledge in daily work.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to facilitate a decision-making process.
- Desirable - Professional qualifications, e.g., CPA, CA, or equivalent.
- Desirable - Experience with enterprise planning software such as IBM Cognos TM1 (including TM1 Web).
