About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Expert Financial Policy Advisor to join our team in the Department of Industry, Science and Resources.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide expert advice on the Australian Government's financial framework, including compliance with Commonwealth financial frameworks. They will also be responsible for delivering accurate and timely compliance reporting, ensuring external reporting obligations are met, and assisting with the development and maintenance of Accountable Authority Instructions, Departmental Policies, and Financial Delegations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and apply legislative requirements, including compliance with Commonwealth financial frameworks and advise on moderately complex issues.
  • Deliver accurate and timely compliance reporting, including insightful analysis highlighting non-compliance trends.
  • Ensure the department's external reporting obligations are met.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of the Accountable Authority Instructions, Departmental Policies, and Financial Delegations.
Eligibility

To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens. Positions require a Baseline security clearance, and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
