Bakery Team Leader Job Description

The role of Bakery Team Leader is a key position within the retail industry, responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the bakery department.

As a Retail Leader, you will be accountable for driving business growth, customer satisfaction, and maintaining exceptional standards in presentation, atmosphere, and customer service.

The successful candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, with experience in fast-paced environments and direct/indirect leadership roles. They will also have a proven track record of meeting sales targets, controlling costs, and developing high-performing teams.

Maintaining high-quality products, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring effective waste management are crucial aspects of this role. Additionally, the ability to drive a one-team culture that prioritizes team members' health, safety, and wellbeing is essential.

Awareness of customer needs and delivering an outstanding shopping experience is vital for success in this position.

  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment is essential.
  • Direct/indirect leadership experience is required to lead, coach, and develop your team to meet sales targets, cost control, and rostering requirements.
  • Maintaining excellent department standards, including monitoring stock, rotation routines, waste, and quality control, is crucial.
  • Driving a one-team culture that celebrates success and prioritizes team members' health, safety, and wellbeing is vital.
