Role Description We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Property Director to join the team in Melbourne.
The successful candidate will play a key role in origination, structuring, and execution of commercial real estate lending opportunities. They will cultivate and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including developers, investors, brokers, and high-net-worth individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and pursue new business opportunities in the commercial real estate sector, focusing on loans exceeding $7.5 million.
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including brokers, developers, investors, attorneys, and accountants.
- Evaluate borrower creditworthiness and project feasibility by conducting financial analysis, property appraisals, and market research.
- Collaborate with internal investment teams to oversee due diligence and prepare investment proposals for approval.
- Negotiate loan terms and oversee the closing process, ensuring precision and efficiency.
- Stay up to date with trends in the commercial real estate market, competitive landscape, and relevant regulatory changes.
- Partner closely with investment professionals, analysts, and portfolio managers to achieve objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and internal policies governing commercial lending.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Real Estate, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in commercial real estate lending with a strong track record of originating large commercial mortgages over $7.5M.
- Strong knowledge of loan structuring, underwriting, and documentation.
- Excellent financial analysis and modelling skills.
- Established industry network.
- Proven business development and sales skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
