A leading financial institution is seeking a seasoned professional to lead its data governance function. As the Enterprise Data Governance Leader, you will play a critical role in defining and implementing enterprise-wide data governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and enabling business innovation through effective data management.
Reporting directly to the Director of Delivery & Governance, you will oversee a team of experts responsible for data enablement, cyber, and data competency. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Defining Identity and Operating Model: Develop a comprehensive operating model for the newly formed team, outlining roles, responsibilities, and key performance indicators.
- Embedding Governance and Enablement: Collaborate with agile delivery teams and strategic initiatives to embed data governance and enablement practices, ensuring seamless integration with business operations.
- Executive-Level Reporting: Provide regular, executive-level reporting on digital, data, and cyber risk, ensuring transparency and accountability across the organization.
- Representing the Function: Represent the data governance function in governance forums and risk councils, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing with other stakeholders.
As the Enterprise Data Governance Leader, you will be the driving force behind the development of enterprise data governance frameworks, data stewardship programs, and literacy initiatives. You will ensure that data protection aligns with strategic objectives, bridging the gap between business and technology teams.
Key qualifications for this role include:
- Minimum 7 Years Experience: A minimum of 7 years' experience in data governance, enablement, or enterprise data strategy, with a proven track record of success in developing and implementing data governance frameworks.
- Familiarity with Frameworks: Familiarity with frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST, CPS234, and CPS230, with the ability to apply these principles in a practical context.
- Financial Services Experience: Experience working in financial services, preferably in insurance, with a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Influencing Stakeholders: Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, communicate complex ideas simply, and drive ownership and innovation within the organization.
