About the Role

We are seeking an experienced leader to fill the position of Assistant Director Regulatory Intelligence.

Job Description

The successful candidate will lead a team responsible for providing high-quality intelligence and analysis to inform strategic, operational, and tactical planning and operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership to effectively manage the team consistent with statutory responsibilities and the strategic direction and operational policies of the organisation.
  • Lead and coordinate the successful development of regulatory intelligence capabilities and products to support regulatory activity.
  • Provide high-level intelligence analysis on both complex and sensitive issues and identify opportunities, solutions, and strategies to address contentious, long-term, and emergent issues.
  • Establish and implement effective communication systems, both internal and external to the Commission, to ensure stakeholders are consulted and information is disseminated as required.
  • Deliver briefings and other documentation to clearly communicate findings of analysis to influence executive and committee decision making.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:

  • Strong experience in engaging with stakeholders in relation to difficult and/or sensitive issues.
  • Excellent research, conceptual thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to understand and clearly communicate complex analytical findings.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the capability to self-manage multiple competing priorities while working to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including quality assurance ability.
  • Flexibility to work both independently and with geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong data and regulatory intelligence literacy and reporting skills, including structured analytical techniques.
  • Understanding of the role of data, intelligence, and information by modern regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to manage, develop, and lead a team, including data and intelligence specialist staff.
