Postdoctoral Researcher in Oceanography

This is an exciting opportunity to join our research team as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Oceanography. You will play a key role in conducting research linked with an ARC Discovery Project on Understanding Spread in Regional Sea Level Rise Projections: the Role of Changing Ocean Properties and Circulation Processes.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking high-quality research, publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals, and contributing to the supervision of research higher degree students. You will also be involved in conducting research to ensure that ARC Project reporting requirements are fulfilled and deadlines met.

You will work closely with our team to develop and maintain productive links inside the University and locally and internationally with the discipline, relevant interdisciplinary domains, profession, and wider community.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher with a PhD or equivalent in a relevant field such as physical oceanography, mathematics, physics, or meteorology.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field
  • Research record with quantitative contributions to science in physical oceanography, meteorology, physics, or maths
  • Demonstrated experience with high-performance computer and scientific programming skills
  • Ability to process and analyze large datasets
Benefits

This is a full-time fixed-term appointment, with the possibility of part-time negotiation. The remuneration package includes a base salary within the range of $65,798 – $87,905 plus 17% superannuation. Appointment to this role at Academic Level A will have a total remuneration package of up to $102,849, while appointment at Academic Level B will have a total remuneration package of up to $127,369.
