Technical Services Leadership Role

We are seeking an exceptional leader to fill the role of Executive Director, Technical Services. In this critical position, you will oversee the delivery of complex mining, petroleum and gas projects across Queensland.

This includes managing abandoned mine remediation and recommercialisation programs, as well as overseeing state-owned non-commercial water assets. You will report directly to the Deputy Director-General, Georesources division, and provide strategic advice to government staff on sensitive issues.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring public safety through effective management of Queensland's abandoned mines program. Your strong focus on project management, economic feasibility, and commercial probity will drive positive outcomes for all Queenslanders.

Key Qualifications
  • Strong experience in project management within a resource sector or state-owned asset environment.
  • A deep understanding of economic feasibility in resource sector or state-owned asset operations.
  • A proven ability to navigate complex commercial, probity, governance, and legal frameworks.
  • Experience leading remote technical experts to deliver large-scale works and capital expenditure projects.
  • A current open C class driver licence.
