Leadership Role in Nursing and Midwifery

This is a leadership role that involves providing technical leadership and specialist support to ensure the effective delivery and administration of practical programs, enhancing scholarly practice and student learning outcomes across Nursing and Midwifery schools and campuses.

The ideal candidate will possess current registration with APHRA as a registered nurse (postgraduate qualifications desirable), with at least four years' of demonstrated experience in the provision of a broad range of activities in support of undergraduate teaching in the assigned discipline/s. Alternatively, extensive experience (greater than 5 years) of direct operations within the assigned discipline may be considered acceptable.

The successful applicant will lead a dynamic team supporting teaching, learning, and research at UniSC campuses. They will coordinate the delivery of high-quality services, resources, and activities that enhance the student experience and academic excellence.

As a senior member of the Nursing and Midwifery Technical Operations team, you'll oversee daily operations, manage rosters, and ensure smooth, compliant technical support across campuses. Acting as the deputy to the Team Leader, you'll also step into leadership responsibilities when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and specialist support to ensure the effective delivery and administration of practical programs, enhancing scholarly practice and student learning outcomes across Nursing and Midwifery schools and campuses;
  • Act as second in charge to the Team Leader (Nursing and Midwifery), to support the effective management of staff, facilities, and resources to ensure safe and efficient delivery of practical sessions through expert technical support, administration, and safety practices such as risk assessments and equipment maintenance;
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to meet staffing requirements across allocated sites, ensuring budget compliance and provide regular performance updates to the Team Leader (Nursing and Midwifery);
  • Plan, troubleshoot, and support the delivery of immersive simulation activities across allocated sites, ensuring high-quality clinical learning experiences; and
  • Conduct recruitment, onboarding, and mentoring of new or less experienced team members across relevant sites to ensure a well-supported and capable technical team.
