We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Services Manager to lead our technical team in shaping the future of building regulation in Queensland. The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of expert technical advice, drive operational excellence, and uplift capability across the state.

This pivotal leadership role plays a key part in ensuring consistent, high-quality technical services that align with industry standards and strategic objectives.

Our work contributes to sustainable social, environmental, and economic outcomes across the state. We reduce risk, protect the public from harm, and encourage innovation in response to emerging industry challenges.

The position is responsible for leading and managing the Building inspectors within the Building and Technical Inspectorate, delivering building dispute services and supporting the function of the Queensland Home Warranty Scheme.

The position ensures the maintenance of proper building standards to achieve a reasonable balance between the interests of consumers and contractors through the delivery of statewide inspection, dispute resolution, and technical advisory services to external and internal stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of technical services management principles.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing the Building inspectors within the Building and Technical Inspectorate;
  • Delivering building dispute services and supporting the function of the Queensland Home Warranty Scheme;
  • Maintaining proper building standards to achieve a reasonable balance between the interests of consumers and contractors;
  • Providing technical advisory services to external and internal stakeholders;
  • Ensuring the effective operation of the Building and Technical Inspectorate.
