About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety Specialist to join our Copper South Australia HSE team. As a Safety Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing coaching, technical expertise, and advice on various aspects of safety and risk management to leaders across site.

The Prominent Hill mine is a major copper, silver, and gold mine in northwest South Australia, and we are looking for someone who is passionate about safety and has a strong track record of achieving results through influence, coaching, and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse safety data and information sources to identify emerging safety trends and recommend safety improvement initiatives.
  • Proactively reach out to site personnel to coach individuals in site safety systems.
  • Actively attend various safety routines across site.
  • Conduct training sessions across various safety systems.
  • Support investigation quality through maintaining capability in investigation facilitators.
  • Monitor for and support with Safety related operational needs.
  • Support field leadership and safety culture programs.
  • Promote and support hazard awareness and identification.
  • Implement safety improvement strategies and practices.
  • Support the sites Health and Safety Representative Process.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong background in safety, a tertiary qualification, or equivalent industry experience managing safety, and a Certificate IV in OHS. You will also have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at multiple levels in an organisation.
