We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Disability Support Worker to join our team. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering people with disabilities to live independently and reach their full potential.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Provide person-centered support tailored to each participant's goals
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, meal preparation, and household tasks
- Support participants in social and recreational activities within the community
- Implement individualized care plans and support strategies
- Ensure a safe, respectful, and empowering environment for participants
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and progress
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has evidence of working with people with disabilities, their families, and support networks
- Possesses a strong understanding of the NDIS Quality and Safety framework and NDIS Code of Conduct
- Has experience supporting clients during sleepover and early morning shifts
- Practical experience in person-centered and active support models
- Ability to provide support during overnight sleepover shifts
- Experience in team collaboration, supervision, and conflict resolution
- Strong time management, administrative, and computer skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with stakeholders
- A resilient and adaptable approach to changing priorities and participant needs
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 5 years of disability support work experience
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or a willingness to obtain it
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and NDIS Orientation Module Completion
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification
- Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Check with NDIS endorsement
- National Police Check (less than six months old)
- A valid Australian driver's license (preferred)
