Empowering People with Disabilities: A Rewarding Career

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Disability Support Worker to join our team. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering people with disabilities to live independently and reach their full potential.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide person-centered support tailored to each participant's goals
  • Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, meal preparation, and household tasks
  • Support participants in social and recreational activities within the community
  • Implement individualized care plans and support strategies
  • Ensure a safe, respectful, and empowering environment for participants
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and progress

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has evidence of working with people with disabilities, their families, and support networks
  • Possesses a strong understanding of the NDIS Quality and Safety framework and NDIS Code of Conduct
  • Has experience supporting clients during sleepover and early morning shifts
  • Practical experience in person-centered and active support models
  • Ability to provide support during overnight sleepover shifts
  • Experience in team collaboration, supervision, and conflict resolution
  • Strong time management, administrative, and computer skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • A resilient and adaptable approach to changing priorities and participant needs

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 5 years of disability support work experience
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or a willingness to obtain it
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and NDIS Orientation Module Completion
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certification
  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Check with NDIS endorsement
  • National Police Check (less than six months old)
  • A valid Australian driver's license (preferred)
