We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team for a casual outage role at Tarong Power Station. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a Hitachi steam turbine supporting project with four main areas of scope - Valves, Turbine, Generator and Auxiliaries.

Job Description

The successful candidate will disassemble, inspect and reassemble steam turbines and valves, work with auxiliary systems, interpret technical drawings and ensure precise alignment and safety compliance. Previous outage and project experience in the power generation or heavy industrial sector is highly desirable.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Site Proficient: Proven experience working on steam turbines and valves, including inspection and measurement of critical components.
  • Technical Skills: Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade, or equivalent.
  • Team Oriented: Ability to work effectively within a team with well-developed communication skills.
  • Workplace Safety: Committed to safety and wellbeing of yourself and your colleagues.
  • Hold Valid Tickets: Enter and work in confined spaces (RIIWHS202E) & Working at heights (RIIWHS204E) (within 2 years), Construction white card, Rights to work in Australia.
Benefits

This casual role offers a competitive rate, EBA rates $66.84 p/hr (including 25% casual loading) + OT Penalties (from base rate). LAFHA or Accommodation provided to distant workers.
