About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team at Duratec Australia. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in the preparation and delivery of tenders for major construction projects across Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurate Bid Preparation: Prepare and develop accurate cost estimates, including cost escalation analysis, for tenders.
  • Material Quantity Take-Offs: Compile accurate material quantity take-offs to develop bills of quantities.
  • Construction Methodologies: Support the preparation and development of construction methodologies, programs, and submission documentation.
  • Estimate Development: Develop estimates from first principles using site productivity rates.
  • Tender Programs: Construct tender programs and identify the need for additional information or clarification through RFIs to ensure complete tender documents.
  • Design and Engineering Review: Review designs and engineering specifications for cost effectiveness.
  • Subcontractor Pricing: Review and validate subcontractor pricing across all service disciplines.
  • Tender Delivery: Deliver detailed tenders with traceability and provide support for pre-contracts and delivery.
  • Team Coordination: Coordinate team activities and conduct tender cost estimate review meetings.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and maintain positive relationships.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator who can bring the following skills and qualifications to the role:

  • Engineering and Resource Industry Experience: Experience in engineering and resource industries, with a strong understanding of construction methodologies and cost estimation.
  • First-Principle Pricing: First-principle experience with pricing internal labour to complete work scopes.
  • Defence and Infrastructure Experience: Prior experience in Defence sector, construction, process and non-process infrastructure, and water/wastewater treatment (preferred but not essential).
  • Financial and Commercial Acumen: Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Tertiary Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or similar equivalent.
