About the Role

Duratec Australia is seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team in Newington. As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for delivering detailed cost estimates and coordinating all tendering activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver detailed cost estimates and coordinate all tendering activities
  • Interface closely with the National Estimating Manager and Estimating Leads
  • Oversee accurate bid preparation, presentation, and follow-up for all Duratec and DDR tenders
  • Recognize the need to obtain additional information or seek clarification through RFI's to the Client
  • Prepare and develop accurate cost estimates by overseeing Estimating Assistants or directly carrying out detailed and accurate material quantity take-offs
  • Assist with preparing and developing construction methodologies, programs, and submission documentation
  • Develop estimates from first principles using site productivity rates
  • Hand over detailed tenders with traceability and support into pre-contracts and delivery
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and maintain positive relationships
  • Lead and manage a team of future Estimators and Estimating Assistants
  • Provide strategy into tenders
  • Involvement in bid/no bid process
  • Coordinate your team workload, time, and cost

About You

  • Significant experience working within a main contractor environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, confidence, professionalism, and self-motivation
  • A strong, financial, and commercial acumen, as well as the ability to identify new project opportunities and ensure a high success rate of team bids
  • High-level attention to detail and the ability to work to set timeframes while multi-tasking
  • The ability to present your estimates to Senior Management for approval to submit
  • Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management / Quantity Surveying / Engineering or similar
