Job Title: Support Worker for BPD, Anxiety and PTSD

We are seeking a support worker to assist an individual with complex mental health needs. The ideal candidate will be able to provide kind and gentle support, reassure and soothe as needed.

The participant has requested a support worker with strong boundaries and the ability to help them re-engage within the community. The successful candidate will also need to have:

  • A Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification
  • At least 2 years of experience in the mental health sector
  • A current Working with Children card (Blue card)
  • An NDIS Worker Screening check (Yellow Card)
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certificates
  • Current Police Check
  • Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • A Driver's License and registered personal vehicle with comprehensive car insurance

The role will involve:

  • Prompting with all Personal Cares
  • Prompting with medication
  • Meal preparation and cooking
  • Light household duties
  • Redirection / de-escalation experience
  • Maintaining critical thinking and problem-solving abilities throughout shift
  • Working autonomously to provide appropriate levels of support to maintain and improve the participant's level of independence
  • Great communication skills
  • Work within the NDIS Code of Conduct
  • Ability to work in partnership with NDIS participants to achieve their goals
  • A passion for assisting individuals who struggle with a disability to improve their quality of life
