Senior Accounting Manager

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Manager to join our public practice team.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity that will play a key role in our growth and success, allowing you to partner with entrepreneurial business owners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Invest your time and knowledge into developing our team members through genuine coaching and mentoring.
  • Manage client relationships, including meeting with clients and maintaining strong workflow forecasting, ATO lodgement, and ATO debt management.
  • Collaborate with our accounting supervisor and manager group, contributing to program development.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for added value or additional products and services, collaborating with other divisions on such engagements.
  • Manage both compliance and advisory/consulting engagements, including cash flow forecasting, business acquisition/sale, and specialist tax advice. Mitigate risk and plan strategies to minimize tax on such engagements.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in public practice accounting.
  • Strong technical proficiency in tax and consulting/modelling engagements, including budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and evaluations.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and strong Xero skills.
  • Experience as a mentor and coach for junior and graduate accountants.
  • Excellent knowledge of taxation legislation.
  • Proven leadership in coaching and developing team talent, empowering junior staff to reach their potential.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, earning trust with clients and delivering high-quality service.
  • A collaborative communicator who connects colleagues and shares expertise across the organization.
  • Strategic thinking – proactively identifies opportunities to enhance client outcomes and drive business success.
