Cancer Sample Coordinator Laboratory Specialist

This role involves coordinating sample collection for cancer somatic mutation DNA testing. It requires hands-on experience with laboratory investigations and tests, as well as technical tasks involving established methods and procedures.
To achieve success in this position, you will need to have a strong understanding of laboratory processes and protocols, as well as excellent communication skills to effectively liaise between internal and external clients.
Main Responsibilities- Coordinate sample collection for cancer somatic mutation DNA testing
- Perform laboratory investigations and tests, including manual and automated tasks
- Liaise between internal and external clients to ensure timely delivery and retrieval of samples
- Maintain equipment and prepare materials in line with established laboratory processes and protocols
- Diploma in Laboratory Technology or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution
- Experience in delivering pathology services, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems and Quality Systems
- Ability to work efficiently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
- Strong administrative and organisational skills to coordinate urgent DNA testing for advanced cancer patients
