The Role

This permanent part-time position as Pastoral Care Coordinator supports clients across the South Coast region by visiting them in their own homes. The ideal candidate will have access to a car and hold a valid Australian driver's licence, with mileage reimbursed. Working 3 days per week (22.8 hours/pw), preferably Tuesday and Wednesday, with flexibility on the third day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessing client/family spiritual and emotional needs and developing a tailored care plan to ensure their well-being is acknowledged and documented.
  • Providing empathetic support to clients and their families, addressing their spiritual and emotional concerns.
  • Liaising with relevant religious leaders to coordinate spiritual support where necessary.
  • Supporting team members in pastoral care, including training in boundaries, grief, loss, faith, and hope.
  • Collaborating with team members to extend their skills in meeting clients' spiritual needs, identifying suitable resources.
  • Participating in staff meetings, in-services, and other events to promote pastoral care opportunities.
  • Maintaining regular communication with local service managers and team members to address feedback, identify needs, and report on developments.

About You

  • Commitment to align with HammondCare's Christian Mission, Motivation, and Action.
  • Strong understanding of people living with life-limiting illness, dementia, and journeys of grief and bereavement.
  • Personal and active Christian faith, with experience in church involvement.
  • Theological/Pastoral Care qualifications and experience.
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide compassionate care and enhance wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication skills, including listening, compassion, and empathy.
  • Experience leading and supporting teams.
  • Strong administrative and computer skills.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a salary package of AU$65,000 - AU$85,000 per annum, inclusive of NFP benefits, plus meals and entertainment benefit (up to AU$2,650 tax-free).
