Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our team at Westmead Hospital in the Cancer and Chronic Care Team. The successful candidate will provide care to families of Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD).

Responsibilities
  • Provide a high standard of care to patients and their families in Inpatient and Outpatient Oncology, Haematology, Bone Marrow Transplant, Car T Cell Therapy, Respiratory, SMART, Neurology, Cardiology, Cystic Fibrosis, Infections Diseases and general Mixed Medical areas.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement effective case management plans to meet the needs of patients and their families.
Requirements
  • Degree in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW).
  • Strong understanding of psychosocial issues associated with acute and chronic illness.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
