Role Summary

The Assistant Director of Nursing will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality clinical care within our facility. This position requires a seasoned nursing professional with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise and collaborate with residents and their families to ensure their needs are met.
  • Ensure clinical documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Provide hands-on clinical support to nursing staff and care workers.
  • Organize and deliver staff education programs to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Implement and maintain a competency program for all care staff.
  • Manage staff rosters to ensure adequate coverage and resource allocation.
  • Assist the General Manager/Director of Nursing in collating data and reporting against clinical indicators.
  • Ensure clinical audits are completed on time and report outcomes to the General Manager/Director of Nursing.
  • Participate in the Continuous Quality Improvement Program to drive excellence in care delivery.
  • Monitor the safe administration of medications and supervise the implementation of new care software systems.
  • Liaise with doctors and allied health professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Assist in maintaining a positive organizational culture that promotes teamwork and collaboration.
Requirements
  • A degree in nursing and registration with AHPRA.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a registered nurse.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working in the aged care sector.
  • Knowledge of the Aged Care Act, Aged Care Quality and Safety, Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI), and mandatory reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience with Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and risk management.
  • Experience in clinical education and staff development.
  • Competent computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with residents, relatives, and healthcare teams.
  • Membership of a professional organization (e.g., Australian College of Nursing) is desirable.
