Job Title: Aboriginal Health Worker
">About the Role
">In this role, you will be part of a rural healthcare service that supports pregnant women and their families throughout the antenatal and postnatal journey.">You will work alongside a Registered Midwife and within a multidisciplinary team to provide culturally safe and supportive care to women and families, many of whom may be vulnerable.
">Your contribution will help foster trust, strengthen connections, and support efforts to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
">This is a full-time position based at the Muswellbrook Maternity Unit. A typical day may include coordinating appointments with the Midwife, offering cultural support, arranging or participating in community events, and joining home visits with the Midwife to provide care during the antenatal and postnatal period.
">You will receive ongoing support from your Line Midwife Manager and the Health Services Manager through regular monthly ward meetings and access to training programs to meet your professional development needs.
">Required Skills and Qualifications
">We are looking for a compassionate and motivated applicant with strong communication skills, basic computer skills, and a current driver's licence.
">Eligible applicants must hold or aspire to hold a minimum Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or a minimum Certificate III health qualification in the area of care in which the Aboriginal Health Worker works.
