Electrical Mechanic Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Mechanic to fill this permanent, full-time position. In this role, you will be responsible for reading blueprints to determine work requirements.

  • Reading blueprints to determine work requirements
  • Testing and observing electrical and mechanical conditions of equipment
  • Troubleshooting and repairing electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators, and other electro-mechanical equipment
  • Replacing or reconditioning shafts, bearings, commutators, and other components
  • Winding, assembling, and installing various types of coils
  • Performing static or dynamic balancing of armatures or rotors
  • Performing some machining to recondition or modify shafts, commutators, or other parts
  • Testing and repairing or replacing faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear
  • Testing repaired motors, transformers, switchgear, or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance
  • Completing work orders, test, and maintenance reports
  • Testing electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance
  • Maintaining, repairing, testing, and installing electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems

Key Requirements:

  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
  • On-site work at a physical location; on-site requirement
  • Ability to distinguish colors; attention to detail
  • Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication, dependability, organized

Work Conditions:

  • Handling heavy loads
  • Work must be completed at the physical location; there is no option to work remotely
