Empower Young People in Custody

We are recruiting youth justice workers to join our extended network of care. As a keyworker, you will act as part of a close team to monitor progress and support rehabilitative outcomes.

Our youth justice precincts provide a dynamic work environment where you can make a real difference in the lives of young people. You will be empowered to create change from the inside out by helping young people work towards daily structures, achieve key goals, and develop life skills.

Youth justice workers can also act as keyworkers in a young person's care team. We provide full training, including a fully funded Certificate IV in Youth Justice.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Passion and Empathy - the ability to work with children and young people while setting boundaries
  • Life Experience - the ability to adapt and manage challenging situations
  • Dedication and Resilience - maintaining positivity and commitment even after setbacks
  • Teamwork - the ability to be a natural team player and work well with a close team
  • Verbal and Written Communication Skills - report writing will be part of your job
  • Pro-activity - the skill for solving challenges and complex issues with bright ideas

Qualifications or experience in case management, youth work, community services, social studies, education, criminology, or allied health practices such as psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy, psychiatric nursing, or alcohol and other drugs are highly valued.
