In this vital role, you will contribute to the positive development of young people in custody by providing a supportive network and guiding them towards achieving their goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide extended support to young people to help them attain key objectives and develop essential life skills.
- Monitor progress and collaborate with care teams to ensure rehabilitative outcomes as a key worker.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver optimal results for young people.
- Possess passion and empathy to work effectively with children and young people while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Bring life experience to adapt and manage challenging situations.
- Exhibit dedication and resilience to maintain positivity and commitment even after setbacks.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
- Be proactive in solving complex issues and challenges with creative solutions.
- Hold qualifications in case management, youth work, community services, social studies, education, criminology, or allied health practices such as psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy, psychiatric nursing, or alcohol and other drugs.
