Hotel Maintenance Technician Role

This is an excellent opportunity to join our hospitality team as a Hotel Maintenance Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel by performing routine maintenance tasks and addressing any technical issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize and carry out maintenance tasks as requested to ensure the efficient running of the hotel operation.
  • Plan and implement preventive maintenance throughout the hotel to maintain high standards for guest comfort.
  • Carry out general repairs and maintenance to the property.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative and company policy obligations related to departmental responsibilities.
  • Liaise with contractors to ensure their work meets company and manufacturer specifications.
  • Coordinate energy and water conservation initiatives and minimize waste costs.
  • Maintain a well-stocked workshop with adequate materials and tools.
  • Audit workshop tools and equipment to ensure sufficient running of trade functions.
  • Ensure external hotel areas are neat and tidy and maintained in line with brand standards.
  • Maintain gym equipment in safe working order according to manufacturer specifications.

Requirements:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual with a strong background in maintenance or a related field. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 2-5 years' experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a hospitality environment.
  • Trade qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering is preferred.
  • Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Physical fitness to perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Service-oriented attitude with attention to detail.
  • Multicultural awareness and ability to work with diverse cultures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
