Maintenance and Repair Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join our maintenance team as a Maintenance and Repair Specialist. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of hotel operations.

As a Maintenance and Repair Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to perform routine maintenance tasks and repairs to ensure that all hotel facilities are well-maintained and in good working order.

In this dynamic and varied role, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of equipment and systems, including electrical and mechanical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and more.

You will also be responsible for maintaining high standards of health and safety within the hotel, including conducting regular fire alarm and emergency lighting tests.

Additionally, you will work closely with contractors to ensure that their work meets our company's standards and expectations.

  • Prioritise and carry out maintenance tasks as requested to ensure the hotel operation runs smoothly.
  • Plan and carry out preventive maintenance throughout the hotel to maintain guest comfort standards.
  • Carry out general repairs and maintenance to the property.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal legislative requirements and company policies.
  • Support testing of fire alarms, emergency lighting etc. on a routine basis.
  • Liaise with contractors to ensure their work meets company standards.

To succeed in this role, you will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative in a dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in maintenance or a similar role, preferably in a hospitality environment. A trade qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering would be highly desirable, as would computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, Opera or similar PMS).

Physical fitness is required for this physically demanding role, which may involve working at heights, lifting heavy objects, and performing manual labor. You must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Requirements:
