Job Title: Electrical Fitter - Maintenance and Repair Specialist

At our rolling stock maintenance facility in Keswick, Adelaide, we are seeking a skilled Electrical Fitter to join our team. As an integral part of our operations, you will be responsible for maintaining the iconic trains that transport passengers across the country.

The ideal candidate will have experience in trade-related tasks such as component overhaul, installation of mechanical and electrical equipment, fit-out of electrical equipment, and acceptance testing. You will work closely with our Shift Technical Co-ordinator to allocate maintenance, repair, and service work tasks.

We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, who can read, interpret, and understand plans, diagrams, drawings, and specifications. Your knowledge of manufacturing and component overhaul processes is essential, as well as your ability to work independently and prioritize demands in a fast-paced environment.

The role involves performing servicing, fault-finding, and troubleshooting tasks, which may require complex problem-solving and tight scheduling deadlines. You must also ensure good housekeeping methods, rail safety, environmental requirements, and precautions at all times.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess an Australian Electrical Fitter trade certificate, have a strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment, and be able to establish effective working relationships with various stakeholders.

About You

- Hold an Australian Electrical Fitter trade certificate.

- Have experience in reading, interpreting, and understanding plans, diagrams, drawings, and specifications.

- Possess knowledge of manufacturing and component overhaul processes and practices.

- Demonstrate strong communication skills (oral & written) and negotiation skills.

- Be able to work independently and prioritize demands in a fast-paced environment.

- Previous experience working in the Rail Industry is desirable.
