About This Role

The Perioperative Clinical Nurse Educator is a vital position that plays a pivotal role in shaping education programs that directly impact patient care.

  • Promote and uphold the Mission and Values of Calvary Health Care Launceston, to provide high-quality patient care
  • Identify learning needs and objectives for individuals and groups
  • Design, implement, and evaluate clinical education programs in collaboration with the Education Manager
  • Deliver adult-learning-based clinical education and reflective practice to enhance nursing staff skills
  • Provide mentorship and support for new staff members
  • Develop learning packages and competencies for perioperative units to drive quality improvement
  • Collaborate with clinicians, company representatives, and healthcare professionals to develop educational programs that meet industry standards
  • Support organisational change and review of relevant policies to ensure alignment with industry best practices
  • Incorporate current research and evidence-based practices into education to enhance patient outcomes
  • Assist with mandatory training activities to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements

This role requires strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing. A postgraduate qualification in education or a relevant clinical area is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a perioperative setting (Theatre, PACU, or Anaesthetics) and proven interpersonal and leadership skills.

Requirements
  • AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Postgraduate qualifications in education or relevant clinical area (highly desirable)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively teach, mentor, and support nursing staff
  • Minimum 5 years of post-registration experience in a perioperative setting (Theatre, PACU, or Anaesthetics)
  • Proven interpersonal and leadership skills
