About the Role

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing general surgery, colorectal, plastic, metabolic, and bariatric procedures
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health recovery, rehabilitation, or end-of-life needs
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experiences
  • Work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team to ensure seamless delivery of patient care

About the Department

The Surgical A ward is a 36-bed unit specializing in general surgery, colorectal, plastic surgery, metabolic, and bariatric surgery. We have well-developed expertise in stoma care and wound management.

Requirements:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Minimum 3 years of surgical nursing experience
  • Working with Children check
  • Specialty nursing experience in general adult surgery - Bariatrics, Colorectal, Plastics
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care
  • Compliance with national safety standards
  • Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
