We are seeking an experienced Nurse with surgical nursing experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering high-quality patient care and excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based standards of nursing care to patients with a range of medical conditions.

  • Provide education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation, or end-of-life needs.

  • Lead quality improvement projects to deliver desired outcomes and enhance patient care.

  • Work collaboratively with the wider healthcare team to support patient care needs.

  • Act as a role model for safe practice and provide guidance to junior staff members.

About the Role

The successful applicant will work in a 36-bed unit specializing in general surgery, colorectal, plastic surgery, metabolic and bariatric surgery. The ward offers extensive expertise in stoma care and wound management.

We provide ongoing support and guidance to new employees through preceptorship and have a well-established team dynamic. Our Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Educator, and Clinical Nurse Specialists are available to provide support and guidance.

Requirements

  • Current Registration with AHPRA.

  • Minimum of 3 years' surgical experience.

  • Working with Children check.

  • Specialty nursing experience - general adult surgery, bariatrics, colorectal, plastics.

  • Commitment to quality patient care.

  • Compliance with national standards.

  • Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Able to work independently and within a team.

  • Intermediate computer skills.
