Senior Performance Analyst

The Claims and Recovery Support division has been established within WorkSafe Victoria to focus on supporting the recovery and return to work of injured workers. This division is transforming how support and services are delivered to injured workers to improve the outcomes they achieve, and will help shape the future Recovery Service Model for the Victorian Workers Compensation scheme.
Key Responsibilities- Take a leadership role in the delivery of regular insights informed by statistical analyses.
- Leverage subject matter expertise to distill complex analytics and insights into an actionable and easy to understand form for executive stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and advice to other analysts to ensure our analytical models and subsequent insights meet agreed standards.
- Take a leadership role in analytics projects and initiatives, including responsibility for delivering key components.
- Lead the development and provision of analytical services, including working with stakeholders in other business units to translate business problems into technical requirements and/or specifications that will drive data-driven insights and recommendations.
- Deliver guidance and advice that allows others to conduct performance measurement and program evaluation, and lead responses to ad hoc requests for statistical analyses and insights.
- Embed our statistical software tools and evolve their use within the team.
- Ensure that analytical models and outputs meet agreed standards by ensuring appropriate documentation and undertaking peer review.
You are an experienced Analyst with the ability to problem-solve, undertake effective research and analysis, and produce complex statistical models. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills provide you with the ability to build trusted relationships and summarise complex technical concepts for a non-technical audience.
You will also possess:
- Ability to lead stakeholder engagement activities to collect, identify, and articulate stakeholder requirements.
- Well-developed report writing and presentation skills to engage senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to support other analysts and quality-check their output.
- Experience working with data sources and core systems.
- Highly proficient in Excel.
- A strong knowledge of and experience using data visualisation and reporting tools in day-to-day work, including experience designing, developing, and implementing new initiatives.
- Statistical, quantitative, and/or financial modelling skills combined with a demonstrated capacity to innovate in developing solutions to business challenges.
- Tertiary qualification (e.g. Statistics, Business, Computer Science) or relevant experience.
