Job Title: Occupational Health and Safety Specialist

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. As an integral part of our organization, you will be responsible for implementing and managing our injury management, early intervention, and prevention functions.

In this role, you will work closely with various stakeholders, including site management, treating practitioners, external rehabilitation providers, and Company insurers, to coordinate the management of workplace injuries and workers compensation claims.

You will also facilitate return-to-work programs for employees, provide advice on injury, health, and medical matters to operations personnel and management, and communicate with medical and allied health providers to develop and implement return-to-work programs and plans for workplace injuries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Involve in health & safety projects to develop and implement proactive injury management and rehabilitation strategies
  • Review medical reports to assess workers' fitness for work capacity
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records/files of injury management activities
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Allied health tertiary qualifications as an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Exercise Physiologist (or similar)

• Return to Work Coordination qualification (formal)

• In-depth experience in early intervention, injury management, and case management in the Workers Compensation industry

• Excellent communication, influencing, and time management skills

• Ability to work under pressure to achieve outcomes
