Simulations Specialist Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Simulations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Visual Effects (VFX) department, you will play a crucial role in gathering 3D assets and utilizing off-the-shelf software to create high-quality simulations for top feature films.

In this position, you will lead the way in producing photoreal effects, including smoke, fire, clouds, water, steam, and explosions. You will also be responsible for gathering 3D assets produced by our Build, Layout, and Animation departments, using Houdini and custom pipeline tools to create simulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather 3D assets produced by various departments.
  • Utilize Houdini and custom pipeline tools to create simulations.
  • Produce photoreal effects such as smoke, fire, clouds, water, steam, and explosions.
  • Experience with particle and voxel-based rendering is essential.
  • Familiarity with at least one node-based compositing application, preferably Nuke, is required.
About You:
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in high-end feature film VFX is mandatory.
  • You should have extensive knowledge of Houdini and its applications in simulation creation.
  • Familiarity with pipeline issues and problem-solving skills are necessary.
  • As a team player and clear communicator, you should be able to work effectively with colleagues and convey complex ideas clearly.
  • Calm under pressure and committed to meeting production deadlines, you will be able to handle the demands of a fast-paced VFX environment.
