The FX Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of FX Artists and managing the day-to-day production needs.
The FX Supervisor will supervise the FX team in the technical and artistic aspects of the visual effects production to ensure the highest-quality photorealistic simulations of FX are produced.
You will be working closely with Producer, VFX Supervisor, Head of FX and other departmental supervisors.
Responsibilities Lead and manage the FX team to deliver high-quality photorealistic FX simulations.Collaborate with the Producer, VFX Supervisor, Head of FX and other departmental supervisors to plan and execute FX work.
Qualifications - Must Have Minimum of 8 years as FX TD and previous experience as an FX SupervisorExtensive knowledge of HoudiniProven experience producing effects such as smoke, fire, clouds, water, steam and explosions, plus experience with particle and voxel based renderingAn eye for detail, good sense of timing, and thorough understanding of techniques and technologies relating to physical simulation in computer graphicsFamiliarity with pipeline issues and problem solvingExperience in project management, balancing quality with time constraintsHigh level feature film experience in live action VFX FilmsExperience leading and training teams of FX ArtistsStrong artistic and technical skillsAble to provide artistic and technical solutions to the Effects Team Qualifications - Nice to Have Knowledge of Python, HScript or MELExperience in live action FX work preferredMaya and/or equivalent 3D software knowledge About You Excellent communicatorAttention to detail and strong organisational skillsProven team leader with motivational qualities and initiativeTechnically and creatively astuteHighly organisedPermanent Staff Position Workplace Flexibility & Location We believe great work happens through connection and collaboration - that's why we love spending time together in our beautiful Sydney office.
For this role, candidates should be available to work from the office at least two days per week.
